Content Management Systems
Fed
up of waiting for your
'Webmaster' to update your site?
Save time
and money by adding a simple to use,
content management system to your web site ...
What is a Content Management System?
A Content Management System is basically a web site administration
tool that allows anyone from Photographers and Estate
Agents to Gardeners and Artists (anyone really) to edit
and maintain their entire website themselves. This is
a huge advantage over the way it is currently done (having
to go back to the designer and pay them to add images,
change graphics etc.).
A good web site should be used as an effective marketing
tool, alongside a company's other marketing and PR activities.
A brochure site is an OK place to start, but we can do
so much more nowadays and we specialise in designing dynamic
web sites that are able to support any changing information
in our clients' businesses.
No programming skills required
You will have the ability to add images any time you want,
edit the text, add pages and links - from your browser,
anywhere in the world. This is a website tool that allows
total control and total flexibility. Imagine how this
would give you a strong advantage over your competition.
It’s easier than you think - the average businessperson
with basic computer literacy is more than capable of updating
his or her own online photographs, portfolios, catalogues
or news pages if they wish. Our customers can perform
all their time-sensitive updates via their own secure
online interface (similar to entering information and
submitting an online contact form); including calendars,
newsletters and other newsworthy items.
Examples of updateable pages:
Text updates. Update
any text on your site without having to learn programming
or computer technology skills. News, articles, press releases
– keep your site active and visitors will return
time and time again.
E-Newsletter. Our
E-newsletter facility provides a way for you to manage
mailing lists. You can provide your clients and potential
clients with the ability to sign up for various E-mail
lists, which are a great way to market your message to
busy people.
Calendar of events page.
A calendar of events page to help visitors obtain information
about your upcoming events.
File download library/e-books/e-training. You can offer
visitors a range of useful articles, reports and e-books
that they can download or read online. You can choose
to provide these free, a small charge or ask for their
email address in return (building up a database of contacts).
A great way to train staff online too.
Photo/graphics uploader.
This allows you to post both images and smaller "thumbnails"
of the images on your web site, making either searchable
by keyword, if desired. This feature can be used to help
promote products or services with relevant images.
Randomised photographs. Every
time a page is refreshed or visited, a new photograph
or image will appear. This gives a fresh and dynamic feel
to your site, even if other areas remain static.
Online bulletin board. The online
bulletin or message board is an interactive discussion
area that can be shared by a large number of people. These
boards allow attendees to discuss various issues and relevant
topics.

Case
study:
One of our long-term clients is a landscape gardening
firm. One of the directors takes digital photographs of
projects and posts them onto the company’s web site,
to show how each project is progressing. He also has a
panoramic photograph system to enable visitors to view
the finished gardens from all angles. These simple, but
effective features have significantly helped him increase
his business. Take a look at www.whiteofwitchampton.co.uk
